Basque Country |La Rhune Tourist Train

On the village of Sare, to approximately 10 kilometers of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, this authentic vintage rack railway train dating from 1924 will take you on a 35-minute ride, in 905 meters in height on the mitical summit of the Basque Country. Le Rhune offers one of the loveliest panoramic views on the French and Spanish Atlantic coast and on the peaks of the Pyrenees. As you go up, you will be able to discover the specific fauna and flora of the Basque mountains. On the massif live the pottok, a small and sturdy Basque pony that roams about freely, as well as the manech red head sheep and the Griffon Vulture, an emblematic bird of prey of the Pyrenees.
